Life in Melbourne is tough. New problems arise everyday, and it doesn't help that I'm such a worrier. Suddenly I have so many things thrown at me and its not like in Singapore where I have so many people to run to. Thank god i have dad, sansu, my sister, kcc and everyone else.

Not forgetting my angels. Talking to them nv fails to cheer me up. Kleon's enjoying his hotsprings on the mountain and Cherlyn's working. But every chance they have they're talking to me. Cherlyn is such a dear. Always has been, and always will be. She just makes things so much easier. Thx for being there everytime.

and WanJie! y doesn't ur blog have a tagboard?! so hard to communicate with you! and i dun understand ur hint leh? what did u mean? i onli know i'm seeing you during easter haha.

went marketting with sis on sat, and the weather was real gd. we ate something like spicy hotdogs while enjoying the atmosphere. there was this busker there too and we had free entertainment. sorri if we dont look good. we went marketting haha, not shopping. its like we realli need to do everything ourselves, so am having a taste of the lives of housewives ha.
and saw this add where this guy lost 50kg when he ate this new subway light bread. ridiculous! if onli i could do that, i would eat subway EVERYDAY.

Just a random pic, but alex is just too cute! Nick did a mohawk for both of them and showed me the picture. he's so totally cute and handsome! so sad i missed him during cny.

oh and i cooked like eemee, or crispy noodles today. am thinking of new things to cook everyday, and soon i'll be a great cook! haha. wait for me i'll cook for u all!

Ok this are the last of the gifts i brought over. My fav photoframe and shirt from Cherlyn dear. just looking at it nv fails to cheer me up. and cherlyn and kleon gave me a stack of photo postcards, one for each day. but i was a gd girl, i didnt read all at one shot like wat they thought i would do. haha. there are still many gifts which i couldnt bring over, like jw vita and kb's dog jigsaw puzzle, wee's mug, kleon's mug, jem's bball, bee's sotong, isabel's scarf, evey's broom and jiehui's gift too. sorri guys but realli appreciate it =)

Sis came yesterday, but dad went off today. =(

Dad's been with me since I came to Melbourne. Everytime I come home and see him I feel so safe. But now i have to learn to live away from him for the first time. It just needs getting used to.

See what xin yi got me! a calendar with the kcc girls on it. Wat a great idea, (I can see her smiling with satisfaction.) i'll be counting the days till my return. and she also gave me a bunch of photos since our tkgs times. The contents are censored coz i looked horrendous in most of them. heh. Sweet jie hui bought a set of letter writing papers to get the whole gang to write for me. Thx girl, realli appreciate it. =)

Had my first real orientation today. The school compound is HUGE. i could get lost there! i tell you, i walk around everyday with a map with me. The uni even has signboards with maps and building signs on it in case anyone gets lost. Its realli huge. Oh and there's this guy in my orientation gp that looks like the lead singer of simple plan or something! totally rock-boyband kind of style. And I'm glad there are many asians and singaporeans around, at least it feels more like home.

Thank god the weather's better these few days. Its about 26, with just the right amount of sun and a fair bit of cool wind. My dad and I had like the best gelato ever yesterday. The owner went to Italy to study the art of making great italian icecream, and the result was fantastic. Its cheap too, $4 aussie dollars for like 3 scoops! the queue was long, but definitely worth it.

I just talked to the dears on skype using the webcam. Cherlyn, Bee, Hui Yi, JieHui, Kleon and Jem went visiting together so i took the opportunity to talk to them all at a time. too bad the whole gang wasnt together. They looked great, and looked like they were having so much fun, so much so that i wished i was there. But nevertheless, they made my day. I couldnt help it the moment i heard their voice and saw their faces. Am missing you guys loads, love ya all =)
Rmb to take care of yourselves and dun eat too much new yr goodies k!

I'm starting to discover more about Melbourne and their culture. Went to Queen Victoria Market with dad to stock up on our groceries. Finally! no more bread eggs and ham for every meal alr. QVM is huge, and it sells like everything! its sort of like a tourist attraction too.

Then Dad and I drove down to one of the suburbs, Dandenong. We had delicious scones and cottage chicken pie at this old English Restuarant. The food was great.

We also visited this teapot shop that specialises in all types of teacups, teapots, coffee grinders and coffee beans etc. Of coz, we stocked up on our coffee too. We just couldnt leave there empty handed, i wanted to buy everything there coz they're just so pretty!

Oh ya and i cooked my first meal today!! Grilled Dory fish, fried pork, and potato+carrot+onion+veg soup. it was a mini reunion dinner for dad and I, while the rest will have theirs at home. And my first try wasn't that bad. I'm good k. haha. I shall cook for u all next time lol.

See wat wy got for me. a hand sewn pillow with my name on it. I absolutely love it. It accompanied me during my plane ride, and i still hug it to slp at night. Thx girl. and heard evey got me a broom or something to remind me to do my housework. but sadly i couldnt bring it over.

I'm still missing my dears. But they're always there for me, and u dunno how happy and excited I am whenever I recieve smses/emails and offline msges from my angels. our daily dosage. Thx guys, love ya loads, u all keep me gg. Hope everyone has a great new yr! =)

Melbourne's freaking hot! the sun is scorching. It was 36 degrees ytd and 38 today. The heat's realli getting to me. i want it to rain!

my first update on life in Melbourne. here's how my apartment looks like. its still messy though coz i havent realli unpacked.

Starting from the top left hand corner and gg clockwise, firstly its the bedroom i share with my sis! there's another room but its occupied by her friend. and we have a full length mirror. 2 in fact! then there's a toilet, plus a kitchen area for us to do our cooking. The living area's equipped with a TV and a sofa bed. Plus there's a balcony too. So all in all its a decent place to live in.

Most stuff here are more expensive. Imagine milk and butter being more ex than it is in Singapore although Aus has like Loads of cows la. and today i ordered a bowl of fishball noodle soup thats $6.50 aussie dollars! Its daylight robbery. i guess i have to live with it, or like wat kleon said, pack lunch everyday and try to save. i'm already missing chicken rice, mee pok dry, roti prata blah..

k shall start my elaboration on the gifts from the gang.

Hui yi got me a pair of bedroom slippers! they'll come in handy esp during winter when its very cold. and izzie got me a hand-knitted scarf and a buffer, but i didnt bring them over though, sorri girl. i love all ur messages though! talk about the rest next time.

Saw willow on the webcam ytd. she looks so gloomy, must be missing me loads.

And then i spent my last day in Singapore. It was a bitter-sweet farewell. The dears were so sweet They said they couldnt be selfish. They're happy for me, and i'll do well for them and my family.

So sorry to jw, kb and vita. I couldnt bring the jigsaw puzzle over! but thx for spending so much time fixing it. u girls take care too ya! herlina and my as well.

And of coz, the gang. Wee the smart one arrived first, and the rest went looking for me at SQ counters, or so i heard haha. Thx so much for ur gifts, sorri i couldnt bring all over too. But the messages are the most impt to me!

Look wat the dears got for me! I love love love every single present. They were the first things i unpacked when i reached. gonna elaborate on each and every one of them next time.

I couldnt slp on the plane. only an hr. Plus i didnt have any appetite. And the first class seats weren't as comfy as they were supposed to be. Guess i just didnt have the mood to enjoy.

Suddenly i'm out of my safe haven and thrown into a whole new world. I need to learn so many new things, and i need to learn how to be independent. Thank god dad's with me. He's like my rock, and i cant do without him. i must learn how to be alone soon though, he's not gonna stay here forever. But everytime i wanna cry i'll think of my loved ones. This is what i wanna do, this i s wat i have to do.

Dun worry bout me yea, give me some time, i'll adapt, and i'll be fine eventually. But there's still no place like home. I've been thru tough times and i shd be able to cope with this. Dun forget i'm strong. =)

I'm missing u guys loads alr.

The gang had dinner at a Spanish Restaurant at clarke quay ytd night. The ambience was great, the food was gd, and most importantly the company was the best. I dunno how I would be if I didnt have these ppl in my life.

And the sweet ppl dedicated a farewell song to me. I thought I could control, but well I couldnt. Bee too. I have the best friends in the world.

To my dears: Promise me the gang will still stay this close ya. I'll miss u guys tremendously.

I finally finished packing. 3 big luggages in full and a hand carry luggage. If only I could bring the whole house there.

I'm chasing my dream. I'm studying what I love. But somehow my heart hurts so badly. Only because there are so many wonderful things I cant bear to leave behind.

I'm such a pig but I cant help it.

Clarke Quay's a great place to relax. Strolling along the river with Cherlyn dear and talking turned out to be really great fun. No buying of things at all haha. I'm gonna miss all this, but I'm gonna take these wonderful memories with me to Melbourne.

And we saw luo zhi xiang at Central! gosh he's so cool. details on cherlyn's blog.lol

Receiving gifts are great, but not when they are farewell gifts. My cute neighbour gave me a keychain that read: 'Proud to be a 100% qualified, diagnosing, pet healing, animal friendly Veterinary Surgeon'. and Hu Shing gave me a bear with a voice recorded message to get me to 'jia you'. that was sweet.

Sis is getting me prepared for life in Melbourne. Now i know how expensive tissue and toilet paper is in Melbourne. And she said there's much better coffee in melbourne as compared to starbucks. Cool! But i need time to adapt to a whole new lifestyle there. Hope all will be fine..

dinner with dears! And look what cherlyn made for us! Pineapple tarts with the letters C, M and K on it for us. haha. She also bought me a Shiseido eyeshadow palette which i absolutely love..

Sometimes when u spend time with ur fave ppl the world just stops moving. Time doesn't seem so impt, but yet it passes by so quickly..

I've not finished packing yet but I've already filled up 2 luggages! darn, its so hard coz i'm practically bringing my whole life there, but everything is still here. Y cant I just bring my fully equipped house there, complete with family and friends.

I realised that there are some nice strangers in Singapore after all. This afternoon when I was running frantically to chase the bus, this middle-aged woman flagged the bus for me and helped me stall time so i could get on. Then when i dropped a can of walnuts in the shopping all today, this cute boy immediately picked it up for me. There should be nicer ppl like that in the world!

Went to run errands at heartland mall today. Hu Shing and I were full fledged aunties today. We actually queued up to participate in a spin-the-well thing - a guaranteed prize winning opportunity. So guess what we won? I got a measly $3 shoe shop voucher, and Hu Shing won a can of green tea. haha.

Pizza party was great! though not everyone turned up, as usual. Our fave teachers turned up too, and Ms. Tan brought apple strudel for us. The hard part was bidding farewell to some ppl.

Cherlyn took 3 days leave! =)

Zoo day finally came! and went so quickly.. Cherlyn and I wore the exact same shirt! but it really was a coincidence.. haha. and yes we got laughed at by some ppl on motorbikes. it looked like some uniform..

So Cherlyn and Kleon managed to wake up! so proud of them.. We walked the whole zoo from morning to early evening, covering every exhibit and commenting on every one.. The weather was perfect.. the breeze was heavenly, and rays of sunlight appeared now and then, but they were not overpowering. Best of all, there was no rain..

Every enclosure had a unique creature that stood out.. Like the penguin that wanted to sink so much but had too much blubber and ended up floating. Then there was this otter which kept showing off his backstroke. And the fat pelican, plus the stone-faced donkey and the traumatized-and-trembling guinea pig.. It was real fun just observing them and talking bout them..

But the animals all looked so so peaceful we all felt like sleeping too.. The otters were my ultimate fav sleepers.. they were so cute! just lying there oblivious to their surroundings.. Sometimes u feel that animals have such gd lives.. All they think about is prob wat they'll do tmr.. But then again, they dun have stuff like the internet and clothes.

I had one of the best days of my life in who knows how long.. Thx my dears..

Willow went for her Vaccination today.. and her vet fees amounted to a whooping $158!! But she's my baby, she deserves the best.. She went for blood tests, which turned out to be negative for heartworms.. And the Vet said she was real fit!! compared to the other jack russels, many which are overweight.. gosh, I'm gushing over my dog.. I'm such a proud owner..

Omg these few days are gonna be real busy for me.. gg out of coz. ha. On thurs, me and sis went to check out the new mall at novena, square 2 .. But it was bad.. practically half of the stalls there havent opened yet! it was a waste of time.. so off to orchard we went again..

At night, i met up with my fave class girls at parkway for dinner cause Voramon was back from Bangkok for a short visit, and it'll be the last time I see her until the holidays.. Catching up with them and talking about old stuff was real great.. Looks like we all miss school a little..

Then we went to the zoo on fri! Gonna elaborate later coz I'm really really tired right now after a long day ytd. Off to take a nap first..

Its funny how time flies when u in fact want it to slow down.. There are still so many things I wanna do in Singapore, but time is passing so quickly..

I miss my daily dosage lol.. But talking on the phone with Cherlyn Dear always makes me smile.. No matter how late it is, no matter how tired we are. We always have something to talk about, its just never-ending. She tells me about her working life, her hilarious co-worker/bosses/handy-man etc, and it never fails to make me laugh..

I have the Best friend in the world, the best family, and great friends. I'm a blessed girl.
Its enough to make me happy..

Grandpa just bought love letters! I'm gonna enjoy as much CNY goodies as possible b4 jetting off to aus..

Oh and you know what, tmr's zoo day! Nobody and nothing else will change tmr's outing. It means too much to me.. But first i have to get my two dears to wake up on time. haha.
